Another impressive offering from the makers of the Sims, the epic Spore is a MSPOG that'll let you control the very evolution of a species from single-celled organisms to intelligent, social and space-exploring creatures! This open-ended game defies definition, as it draws from a number of genres, including god game, real-time strategy and life simulation, to deliver a truly engaging video game experience on your PC.
Spore's gameplay is broken up into dependent ‘phases', with different styles of play and missions, so you can guide your species logically through the levels to reach the quasar at the centre of the galaxy, visit other players' planets and interact with their species and civilisations.
If you're really proud of your Spore species, you can upload it to EA's Spore YouTube Channel and sign up for the Sporecast RSS feed to find out how you, and your friends', Spore are doing! Your content is uploaded automatically to a central database, catalogued and rated for quality and then sent to your peers to populate their games!
